Bryan,
We wanted to thank you and Stokely for your quick responses and enthusiasm in allowing us to salvage a number of mature plants from a house you are tearing down for a rebuild. As I mentioned, I’m an avid gardener in my spare time and am fortunate to have a large backyard nearby with plenty of space to fill.
There’s another builder who has torn down at least 6 houses in Chastain. We reached out to him last year with a similar request to what we made to you and never got a call back. I followed up again several months ago before 2 more houses were torn down and he basically put me off saying he wasn’t sure when the houses would be torn down but I could try and call again in a few weeks. I called and left several messages with no return call, the houses were torn down the following week.
All this is to say that we know you have a business to run and allowing us to salvage some plants from one of your tear downs does absolutely nothing to increase your profitability. To the contrary, it’s just one more thing to deal with in a business where every day counts. As business owners ourselves, we just want to let you know that we appreciate the fact that you guys aren’t JUST looking at the bottom line, but are also trying to be good stewards to the neighborhood and nature. It means a lot to us personally and as members of this community for the past 10 years. The renderings for the houses look beautiful. We can’t wait to see the finished products.
